《Now》也成为了一本纪录欧美流行音乐发展历程的有声权威杂志。不可忽视的是，打破同行之间的隔膜，寻求音乐界的共同发展，是《Now》系列带来的巨大的影响。在此之前，“同行如敌国”的概念即使在开放如美国的国家也根深蒂固，殊不知娱乐本来就是不可分隔的整体，四大厂牌共同发展使《Now》自诞生之日起，就比其他唱片有着更广阔的空间和自由度，拥有了跨国性权威的唱片品牌也为《Now》打了一支强心针，其后，众多类似的合辑纷纷推出，逐渐成了一个潮流。



从某个程度而言，至今《Now》已经成为全球流行音乐的流行指标。只有在英美各大音乐榜和销量榜，达到前十位位置的歌手或者组合的作品才有机会入选《Now》系列。从《Now 1》开始，这个规定就没有改变过，而且越来越严格。例如在早年的《Now》系列中我们或者可以看到像Radioheda、Limp Bizkit、Garbage等各种不同类型的乐队出现，可是一旦当这些组合的商业成绩逐渐减少，因为自身定位或者音乐道路改变甚至是被市场淘汰等因素离开了流行领域，就自然地马上被淘汰在《Now》系列之外，无论是曾经怎样强劲的班霸级人马也丝毫不给面子。因为《Now》就是流行，《Now》就是人气指标，《Now》就是各大地区流行音乐趋势的鲜明反映。
